What to explain when you call
Say whether the leak is active, where it is showing indoors and whether anyone has already inspected the roof. Mention visible storm damage or any cover that is already in place. You do not need to identify the exact defect before asking about help.
Tell the provider about practical access conditions from the ground, such as a locked gate or an obstructed driveway. They determine whether the work can be undertaken and what conditions need to be considered.
Keep the temporary and permanent scopes separate
If temporary protection is proposed, ask what area it addresses and what inspection or repair still needs to follow. Keep any written scope. A cover should not be mistaken for a diagnosis of the entry point or proof that concealed materials are dry.
Ask who is responsible for follow-up
Clarify who will discuss the permanent repair, whether another visit is needed and how to report a further leak. Do not assume that an initial temporary-protection visit includes all later roof or interior work.
Report a return of water
If moisture reappears, note when and where. Give the provider the new observation rather than attempting to adjust a rooftop cover yourself. We do not give tarp-installation or roof-access instructions.
Protect your safety before investigating
Keep away from electrical equipment affected by water and from an unstable or sagging ceiling. Do not walk onto a wet or damaged roof. Where there is an immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service instead of relying on a referral connection.
For a simple record to share with a provider, read what to record before a roof-leak call. For observed damage after weather, see storm-related roof concerns.
Availability must be checked
Fountain RoofLink connects homeowners with independent providers when a relevant connection is available. We do not operate a roofing crew, provide guaranteed emergency dispatch or promise temporary protection for every property. Ask about the provider's available scope and scheduling directly.
Questions about temporary roof protection
Is tarping a permanent repair?
No. Ask what temporary protection covers and what assessment or permanent work remains.
Do you promise emergency arrival?
No. Fountain RoofLink is a referral service. Provider availability, weather and the specific work affect whether a service can be arranged.
